Innovative Science & AP Chemistry Educator

Join LEAF Academy as a Science & AP Chemistry Teacher - We're expanding and looking for a passionate educator to teach AP Chemistry and a general Science course. Inspire Future Scientists - Engage students in hands-on lab investigations, chemical calculations, and problem-solving to develop their understanding of chemistry. Guide them in making connections between microscopic structures and chemical properties while preparing them for success in the AP Chemistry exam and future STEM pathways.

Dynamic, Compentency-Based Learning - Our two-year Science course integrates biology, chemistry, and physics, giving students a strong foundation in multiple scientific disciplines. Beyond content, we emphasize essential skills such as designing experiments, analyzing data, creating models, and making scientific claims supported by evidence.

Innovation & Differentiation - We value educators who can adapt their teaching to different learning styles, develop engaging and interactive curricula, and encourage independent problem-solving. Besides the above-mentioned responsibilities assume: 

• Advisory role - responsible for a small group of students, conducting regular weekly meetings, and providing support and mentoring to students when necessary. 

• Residential duties (upon agreement): regular weekday duties in the dormitory.

• Co-curriculars, sports, or a committee member (expected): being part of the co-curricular program, e.g., offering a club, supervising a sports activity, or being an active member of one of the LEAF Academy committees.

Besides other responsibilities, the teacher is responsible for (applies to any type of contract):

• Getting familiar with the AP Chemistry and LEAF Academy Science curriculum.

• Doing formative and summative assessments of students.

• Support students also outside of classes if needed.

• Passion for LEAF Academy’s mission and alignment with the LEAF values

• Proactive and entrepreneurial mindset coupled with a preference for teamwork

• Organized, problem-solver, self-starter

• Willing to mentor and guide students

• Capable of working well under pressure

• Sense of humor and ability to deal with ambiguity

• Advanced English language

• Passion and expertise in Math

• A long-life learner
