We are a focused, agile team of 20-30 people driving the future of energy. We operate as a B2B service provider across Slovakia and the Czech Republic, with active expansion into Ukraine, Bulgaria, and Austria.
Our core business is intelligent energy management. We manage batteries and energy resources, trade on electricity markets, and help stabilize distribution networks.
We are looking for a Junior Engineer who is hungry to learn. You won’t be fixing printers here; you will be writing code that interacts with real energy grids. If you want to grow into a Full-Stack or Cloud Engineer under the mentorship of experienced seniors, this is the place.
You will work closely with Senior Engineers who will guide you through our codebase and best practices.
Develop Features: Write clean, maintainable code in Java or Python for our backend services and APIs.
Learn Cloud Engineering: Assist in deploying functions and services to AWS.
Quality Assurance: Write unit and integration tests to ensure our grid-management software never fails.
Fix & Improve: Troubleshoot bugs and suggest improvements to existing microservices.
Collaborate: Participate in code reviews (both reading and writing) to learn how to write production-grade software.
We use modern tools. You don’t need to know all of them yet, but you should be excited to learn them:
Backend Java (Spring Boot, Micronaut), Python, Bash, R
Cloud (AWS) Lambda (Serverless), EC2, ECS, Fargate, S3, MSK(Kafka), Glue, ELB, Batch, ECR, EMR, CloudWatch
Data & ML TimescaleDB (Time-series), R (Keras/TensorFlow/PyTorch/GBMs)
IaC & DevOps Terraform, Terragrunt, Ansible, Docker, GitHub Actions
Observability Grafana, Prometheus, ELK, OpenSearch
Foundational Skills: Solid understanding of Java OR Python (university projects or personal portfolio counts).
Experience with Git (knowing how to branch, commit, and pull request).
Database Basics: Knowledge of SQL (you know how to write a JOIN and structure a basic schema).
Language: Fluent in Slovak and English (documentation and code are in English).
EU Eligibility: You must be eligible to work within the European Union.
Mindset: You are enthusiastic to learn new technologies. You don’t just copy-paste from StackOverflow; you try to understand how things work.
Culture Fit: We have a strict “No A**hole” policy. We want a team player who is humble, curious, and fun to have a beer with.
Nice to have:
Any exposure to AWS or cloud concepts.
Familiarity with Linux command line (Bash).
A degree in Computer Science or a related field (or equivalent bootcamp experience).
Mentorship: Direct access to senior engineers who are happy to teach.
Flexibility: A shared office in Bratislava (great for learning!) with home office options.
Modern Stack: No legacy COBOL here. You will learn the industry standards (AWS, Terraform, Spring Boot).
Real Impact: Your code directly contributes to green energy adoption.
Friendly Team: A flat structure where even the juniors have a voice.
Team Vibe: Regular social company events
