We are looking for an enthusiastic intern to join our team in solving the AI4Europe project, a Horizon Europe initiative focused on developing an AI-on-Demand platform that connects the European AI community. In this project, KInIT collaborates with numerous European universities, research institutions, and software companies.
The intern will be responsible for designing, organizing, executing, and evaluating UX studies. The goal is to redesign the current platform to better meet the needs of its users, primarily researchers at European universities and companies. The intern will conduct usability studies, visualize and present platform changes to the team, and collaborate with a national and European team of researchers, designers, and developers.
Based on the mutual agreement, the intern will work on either or both of the projects.
Profile (requirements)
Background in any of the areas (or equivalent, eventually certifications / courses in the following):
Information Science
Human-Computer Interaction / UX
Design
Computer Science
You should speak English at B2 level (no certificate required)
You should have knowledge and passion about UX / information architecture - usability, accessibility, credibility and findability / SEO (portfolio needed - can be from the courses you took)
We welcome experience with user testing methods (e.g. A/B testing, card sorting, active listening, moderated/unmoderated user testing, eyetracking, data analysis…)
We welcome experience with wireframing tools (e.g. Miro, Balsamique) and/or with graphic, eventually mockup programs (e.g. Figma, Canva)
Apart from visual design skills, an attention to detail and a user-oriented mindset is welcome
You should be curious, creative, independent and willing to learn new things
Further nice-to-have skills (not required, you can learn them in KInIT):
Basic knowledge of HTML, CSS, eventually JavaScript
Web content writing skills
Time and tasks management skills

Your responsibilities may include:
You will be creating personas and user stories for a shared European platform for AI community
You will be conducting qualitative, eventually quantitative user testing to iterate over existing designs and optimize the user experience of the platform
You will be wireframing, creating mockups/prototypes and information architecture for the platform based on the identified user needs
You will be drafting functional & non-functional requirements together with the other members of the team
You will be providing consultations for content creation on the platform
