Join LEAF Academy as an Innovative English Educator - We are looking for a passionate teacher to guide students (ages 15-18) through English Writing and Rhetoric in Year 1 and Year2, helping them develop strong writing, analytical, and research skills that prepare them for the AP courses.

Guide Students to Mastery in Writing & Rhetoric - Take students on a journey from crafting complex sentences to writing strong argumentative essays and conducting individual research. They will continue their English path with AP English Language and Composition or AP English Literature.

Support Diverse Learners - Some students need tailored support in language acquisition (ELL), and we seek an educator who can differentiate instruction to meet varied language needs.

Innovative & Student-Centered Teaching - We embrace a community of learners, using visible thinking techniques and adaptive teaching strategies that foster critical thinking and inquiry. Lessons are designed to engage students in meaningful discussions and independent thought.

Competency-Based Learning & Real-World Connections Our assessment approach is based on competency rubrics, encouraging students to track their individual growth, reflect on their learning and make meaningful connections to real-life situations.

Besides teaching, you would be responsible for:

• Advisory role - responsible for a small group of students, conducting regular weekly meetings, and providing support and mentoring to students when necessary. 

• Residential duties (upon agreement): regular weekday duties in the dormitory.

• Co-curriculars, sports, or a committee member (expected): being part of the co-curricular program, e.g., offering a club, supervising a sports activity, or being an active member of the seminal readings committee.
