Job description

In this role, you will join a team of actuarial analysts in Bratislava supporting the internal model calculations in respect of the life insurance business of the Zurich Group. You will be involved in centralized production of economic assumptions, prepare analyses and reports for senior management. This role is an ideal opportunity to learn a lot about economic assumptions needed for generic discounting: risk-free yield curves and risk-neutral stochastic scenarios. Our team in Bratislava (3 people currently) strongly co-works with three colleagues in Corporate Centre in Zurich.

As Analyst of Economic Assumptions, your main responsibilities will include:

  • Participate on regular monthly and quarterly direct production of economic assumptions using an automated Excel and python process flow

  • Produce ad-hoc analyses and reports (mainly using Excel/VBA - but we are forward looking to use Jupyter Notebooks or other visuals/dashboards)

  • Interact with a wide range of stakeholders across the whole Zurich Group and occasionally even externally with third parties

  • Support theoretical methodology developments and investigations on alternative proxy modelling techniques (SII EIOPA, IFRS17, SII PRA) and calibration approaches (LMM+ used as the central stochastic interest rate model)

  • Maintain and develop creative actuarial solutions reflecting business need - translating stakeholders requests into practical and clever solutions

Who are we looking for

As Analyst of Economic Assumptions, your skills and experience will ideally include:

  • Master’s degree in quantitative finance, mathematics and similar

  • Experience with data wrangling (Excel, VBA)

  • Experience in python (R, MATLAB also acceptable but willingness to work in python is expected)
