Nina Gašparová

As a volunteer at Transparency International Slovakia, I translate articles into English covering topics such as newly adopted laws, granted subsidies, and developments in the public sphere in Slovakia. This work allows me to engage with current policy issues and improve my analytical and language skills.

The internship at Edumacy provided me with the opportunity to prepare materials for a simulation of the European Parliament in the field of international youth organizations within the context of the Renew Europe , which deepened my interest in European politics and the functioning of institutions.

I joined the Youth Council of Slovakia in September of this year as a member of its advisory body, which supports the Council in shaping youth policies and in its advocacy work for youth organizations. I took part in their MOST Awards and the General Assembly, where I gained insight into how advocacy for youth work functions and how this work is recognized and awarded.

As an International Coordinator, I mainly support Slovak members participating in international EYP sessions by addressing their requests, questions, and potential issues. I also coordinate communication with international organisers, including handling delegate replacements when necessary. Additionally, I prepare written materials and presentation content presenting the goals and values of the Slovak EYP team and assist the Finance and Legal Matters team.

At Post Bellum, I sold their products, which were historical magazines. This required knowledge of the related history, specifically Slovak 20th-century history from World War II through the communist era. I worked with a cash register and payment terminal and communicated with other organizations at markets as well as with customers.
