Machine Learning Engineer

RL environment engineers

Pay: $80/h to $165/h
Hours: 40 hours / week
Location: Remote
Contract length: 3 months, with potential for extension
Work time: Need time to overlap with Pacific Time (9am to 5pm) at least 3 hours per weekday.

Mission

The RL environments engineers will be responsible for designing and building MLE and SWE environments, making sure that we deliver high quality diverse tasks on time with minimal supervision.

Outcomes

• Typical completion pace for high quality MLE RL tasks is one task every 3–5 hours.

• Can onboard quickly and start delivering tasks on day one.

• The tasks will target a specific language model and satisfy a given difficulty distribution.

• Environment engineers are responsive and can edit tasks within 24 hours based on customer feedback.

Competencies

• Environment engineers are expected to be creative and can come up task in their specific domain of Machine Learning tasks with out too much supervision

• Environment engineers have experience doing ML, e.g. via coursework or previous work experience, whether in data preparation, infrastructure, or model training

• Environment engineers are caught up with the current ML ecosystem

• Fluent in Python

• High responsibility and high integrity

• Heavy user of LLMs in their daily work and familiar with their shortcomings

Interview process
