Hello from Vestberry! For the last 4 years, we've been building a fintech tool that's currently helping manage $3bn worth of Private Equity & Venture Capital fund investments. We have the ambition to become the industry's reporting standard, keep adding new customers (including Atomico - the 2nd largest VC fund in Europe), and want to grow our team of 15 to reach our ambitious, but realistic goals.
We are looking for a Head of Marketing to build our marketing strategy (and over time also a small team).
Are you a B2B marketer who knows how to design an inbound pipeline, work the channels & measure their performance (with a strong revenue focus)? Join our CEO & Head of Operations in planning, developing, and executing our marketing initiatives. You will also work closely with our sales, implementation & product to understand the market specifics & help us bring new customers on board.
Our Marketing is a greenfield and we expect you to build it up. That doesn't mean, however, that you will be starting from nothing - prior to starting Vestberry, our CEO Marek has built 0100 Conferences - a dedicated European PE/VC conference platform. We still have an extraordinary relationship that gives us exposure and leads. And of course, our existing customers are happy to provide us with references. We also thought of some basic SEO and lead gen hacks (i.e. Quora). We expect you to bring system to what we are doing now, and grow it further, which should be centered around these 3 things:
(1) Building our inbound pipeline. We care about relevant leads and you have the freedom to do this in any way you like. Some of our ideas include:
Managing and improving our SEO (incl. Monitoring Search Console)
Overseeing and developing advertising campaigns (whether keyword or ABM-based)
Negotiating with agencies and procuring the production of promo materials
Defining audiences & refining our personas and ICP
Keeping our website up-to-date & optimizing it for conversion (incl. Google Analytics)
Managing content (whether coordinating others & proofreading or writing yourself) & webinars
Developing proactive reach outs to our target audience
Leveraging our relationship with 0100 Conferences and overseeing other events & awards
Implementing growth hacks (Quora, Product Board, …)
Improving our presence on comparison tools like G2, Capterra, CB, etc.
(2) Reporting & measuring your activities & their results. We currently use HubSpot and are open to extending our technology stack.
(3) Becoming part of our leadership team through clearly articulating your strategy, working with little supervision and asking for what you need, and finally holding yourself accountable to the goals we agree on.
We expect to co-create the scope, focus & more concrete goals during the interview process taking into account your seniority, skills & interests, which we will reward accordingly. Of course, we also forecasted the need for advertising & external collaboration, but we are curious how efficient & inventive you can be.
Depending on your strategy, we expect you could also collaborate on:
Competitor mapping (together with Sales and Product), including upkeep of battlecards
Product marketing (together with Client Services and Product), including documentation
Sales Development (together with Sales) to set up proper handover between the teams
We'll be happy to reward your experience and skill €2,500 - €5,500/month (contract) and if you are interested, we can talk about ESOP as well.
Our ideal future colleague already has experience from B2B SaaS and managed a marketing team before, but we are open to people without the experience, who will instead persuade us by their comprehensive approach. However, we think your background should include:
Ability to design & execute a successful pipeline generation approach for B2B
Previous results demonstrating this ability (especially focusing on value for money/time)
Experience with marketing automation and CRM tools (we use HubSpot)
Understanding of the terms above (or enough initiative to google the ones you are unsure about)
It's still “just work” and we try not to take ourselves too seriously, but we place importance on creating an environment, where we can enjoy ourselves most of the time. We believe Vestberry is an opportunity to work on a local (what we like to think will be a long-term) successful project in the fintech sector with clients around the world.
We work from a modern private office that's part of Campus Cowork in Bratislava's City Center overlooking the presidential palace (and sometimes giving Ms President a gentle wave). We often also work from home, our parents', or some AirBnB, so we are happy to welcome people who only want to visit us from time to time.
Your future colleagues will enjoy talking to you over great coffee served in our Cowork (that we of course pay for), sharing stories you wish you haven't heard.
We provide the standard 20 days off and 4 sick days. With the rest, we trust you are a mature person that can ask for what you need & align with us on how to get it instead of being spoon-fed what we think is right for you. That's why we don't have any further “schemes” or “special days” or “entitlements”. Your results and feelings at work are what's important for us, so of course, we don't have an “HR system” or timesheets, although we are open to you working hourly if you'd want that.
We are a startup, which brings many benefits and flexibility, but we also understand that you might have some concerns about us and our future. This isn't our first startup, we've experienced a few and are happy to tell you more about our plans and our ability to achieve once we speak.
